Remote — United States or Canada (US time zones)Full-time · Remote (US time zones)$220K – $400K USD base (the same in any location)

About the role

Hightouch offers a composable customer data platform and an agentic marketing platform: companies activate the data in their own warehouse, and AI Decisioning lets marketers set goals and guardrails for AI agents that personalize customer interactions. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in San Francisco, it has about 580 employees (around 100 engineers, planning to reach 160–170 within a year) and has raised $332M from investors including Goldman Sachs, Sapphire Ventures, ICONIQ, Bain Capital Ventures, Amplify Partners and Y Combinator. Revenue and headcount have roughly doubled each year.

This is a new seat leading the team behind Customer Studio, a no-code platform that accounts for about half of company revenue. You'll lead a team of about 4–5 engineers and stay hands-on: writing code, reviewing designs and working on technical problems yourself rather than delegating them to a tech lead. You report to Tom, the VP of Engineering.

Remote across the US and Canada on US time zones, with optional office access in San Francisco, New York and North Carolina. Where you land in the salary range depends mostly on how you do in the interviews, which focus on system design with no coding brainteasers.

What you will own

  • Lead and grow a team of about 4–5 engineers

  • Hire and mentor engineers, design candidate evaluation, and support their growth and engagement
  • Improve shipping speed and reliability, including reducing incidents and strengthening incident management
