About the role

This seed-stage AI startup is building the AI platform for commercial real estate and is hiring its first infrastructure engineer. You'll own how the platform is deployed and secured, mostly inside enterprise clients' own clouds (often Azure) and on-prem, plus the company's own multi-tenant hosted environment.

The work spans infrastructure as code, Kubernetes packaging, keyless CI/CD, per-tenant data isolation, secrets, monitoring, on-call and joining client security reviews. As the only infrastructure engineer, reporting to the CEO, you'll make the architecture calls yourself.

Remote across the US on US time zones. The company's name is shared with candidates who reach the interview stage.

What you will own

Own how the platform is deployed and secured, in enterprise clients' clouds (often Azure), on-prem and in the company's multi-tenant hosted environment
Run infrastructure as code, Kubernetes packaging and keyless CI/CD
Build per-tenant data isolation and manage secrets
Set up monitoring and take part in on-call
Join client security reviews and make the architecture calls yourself

Requirements

Must haveHas owned infrastructure architecture end to end as the first or sole infrastructure engineer, or the infrastructure lead making the design calls, not only maintaining a setup someone else built

Must haveProduction Terraform and Kubernetes

Must haveBased in the United States (US time zones)

Must have5+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or cloud engineering

Must haveHas run production infrastructure beyond a single internal AWS setup: deployed into customer environments (customer VPC/BYOC, customer Azure or AWS accounts, on-prem) or ran production on Azure, on-prem or another cloud

Must haveProduction experience beyond AWS: Azure (preferred), on-prem or another major cloud

Nice to haveInfrastructure experience in a regulated industry (fintech, banking, insurance, healthcare, real estate, government or defense)

Not a fitAn AWS-only career on internal infrastructure, with no customer-environment or on-prem work

Not a fitA pattern of short stints (most roles under about a year, or four or more companies in about three years)

Not a fitSolutions or sales engineers, or software engineers whose infrastructure work is secondary to their role
